Beauty and wellbeing are indisputably the result of a healthy lifestyle, ie a balanced diet, sufficient exercise (if possible in the fresh air), regular relaxation phases and a balanced emotional balance. For beauty care, there are a number of natural helpers that help skin, hair and nails to stay healthy.

Skin care in a natural way

For the skin to remain healthy, it must be maintained according to its age and condition. Young skin, for example, does not need much to be firm and elastic. However, the older it gets, the more moisture has to be supplied from the outside. Then water-in-oil emulsions are best suited for the care, since they receive the acid mantle of the skin.

Besides, one must consider the individual skin type. If the skin is rather greasy, it needs a thorough cleaning and should not be additionally burdened with fatty creams, but should be moisturized. Dry skin needs both fat and moisture. In the case of sensitive skin, everything that makes the skin extra stressed (eg peels, face water with alcohol, strong temperature changes) must be avoided. Since soaps attack the acid mantle, they should only be used on very sturdy, rather greasy skin.

To maintain the health of all skin types: Drink plenty (about 3 liters a day), sleep enough (8 hours if possible), drink no alcohol or only moderately; Do not smoke, as this causes the skin to age extremely quickly. In addition, there are many natural home remedies for beauty care.

Two skincare ideas

  • Avocado mask for dry skin: Crush 1/2 avocado, mix with 2 teaspoons of whole milk yoghurt and apply generously to the cleansed face and neck. After 15 minutes, remove with a damp washcloth.
  • Cleansing and refreshing mask with parsley: Wash half a bunch of smooth parsley and pat dry. Then finely chop the leaves and stems. Mix with 2 tablespoons of dry skimmed quark and 1 tablespoon of honey. Leave on face, neck and décolleté for 20 minutes, then rinse off.

Maintain hair naturally

Our hair also benefits from a healthy and wholesome diet with many minerals and trace elements. If it does not get it, or if the human being is hormally imbalanced, the hair reacts promptly. Factors such as age or season (sun and UV radiation dry out, for example) play a role in the condition of the hair and, of course, mechanical, chemical and physical stresses such as frequent washing, intensive combing, touping, tinting, dyeing, perming or too hot blow dry.

If the hair is sick or impaired, they signal it very clearly, being thin, dull, dull, greasy, without tension or even brittle. Important then is a care that corresponds to the hair problem.

Two tips for hair care

  • Bananas, cottage cheese and wheat germ oil for smooth hair: crush an overripe banana with a fork. Add a spoonful of wheat germ oil to a tablespoon of banana sauce and stir in a tablespoon of quark. Soak in damp hair for five to ten minutes and then rinse well.
  • Green tea for greasy hair: For rinsing, pour two tablespoons of loose green tea with a quarter of a liter of boiling water, infuse for ten minutes and strain. Add 150 ml of lemon juice. Rinse the hair with this mixture (do not wash out afterwards).

Hands and nails care with the power of nature

Our hands are important representatives of our appearance. But they are also a communication tool. With them we approach others, touch them; they convey feelings of affection, rejection or mistrust to others. Well maintained and in good physical condition, the skin is smooth and supple, the nails have no grooves or stains and are not discolored (eg yellowish with skin fungus diseases).

For particularly intensive care of hands and nails are especially the night hours, because then the active ingredients of creams and oils are particularly good. If gloves are worn over the creamy hands, this effect is additionally supported. In autumn and winter the hands can tolerate more care. You should then be creamed well before each walk.

Two tricks that naturally cultivate hands and nails

  • Almond and lemon oil for rough hands: Mix fifty ml of almond oil with a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Massage the mixture into the skin until completely absorbed.
  • Warm olive oil bath cares for your hands: bathe your hands once a week in warm olive oil.
